Online on Mixu
Real people, real conversations. Each face here is someone you could be talking to on a 1v1 video chat tonight.
How it works
Type mixu.cam into your browser. A guest session begins by itself, with no profile to fill in and no password to invent.
Tap start and allow your camera. Instant matching pairs you with one real person who is ready to talk right now.
A private call, just the two of you. Stay while it feels good, follow them so you can message or call again, or tap next.
Why Mixu
Every random match is a call for two. Your attention is not shared with a room, and neither is theirs.
No feed to scroll through and no reply to wait for. Tap start and Mixu looks for someone who is free.
People join from across the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia, and a translate button helps with typed messages.
Runs in Safari and Chrome with thumb-sized controls. Pin it to your home screen and it opens like an app.

About 1v1 video chatYou do not have to leave it to chance. Open Who's online, choose a person and ring them from their profile. That page walks through an online video call from the first tap to goodbye.
Placing an online video callTexting a stranger for a week tells you less than one minute of hearing them laugh. Mixu skips to that minute. Liked the person? Follow them and the conversation can pick up again tomorrow.
Inside a Mixu chatTalking to someone you have never met can be the best part of a day. Next, block and report are within reach on every call, so leaving a bad one takes a single tap.
Read the safety tipsThe basics
Mixu is a place for talking with a single person, never a crowd. Press start and a call opens with someone who also felt like talking. That is the whole idea: a private conversation with a real face on the other side. What a single call includes is on the Mixu chat page.
You do not build a profile first. You are not asked to pick interests or upload five photos. A guest session opens with the page, and Mixu is free to start; where coins come in is explained on the Mixu free page. If you came looking for a Mixu app, there is no store download to hunt for: the site loads in the browser on your phone and, once added to your home screen, lives among your other icons.
People online
Yes. Tap Who's online and you see the people who are on Mixu right now, each with a photo, a name and a country. Tap a face to open the profile, take your time over it, and ring that person when you are ready. Nobody is called until you press the button.
Prefer to be surprised? The start button matches you with someone at random instead, and what you get each time is a one on one video chat, since group calls do not exist here. When to use which route is compared side by side on how Mixu works, and placing a call to someone you picked has its own page, online video call.
People join from many countries, so the list changes through the day. Someone you saw this morning may be asleep by evening, which is the best reason to follow a person you liked while their profile is in front of you.
After hello
No. A random match closes when either of you taps next, but the person keeps a profile, and that profile is how a single call turns into somebody you know. Tap their name or photo and you can follow them, write to them or ring them again. Each of those buttons is walked through on how Mixu works.
Two people, one call
Nobody. A 1v1 video chat here has two people in it and no audience: there is no room to join, no line of viewers and nobody steering the conversation from the side. Your camera and theirs come on, somebody says hello, and after that the direction of the call is up to you both.
That is also why no two calls feel alike. Some are over in a minute and end with a wave. Others run long because neither side wants to be the one who hangs up. Both are normal, and neither commits you to anything: the next match starts from zero with someone new, and the person you just met is only kept if you chose to follow them.
It asks a little more of you than a feed does. You cannot scroll past a face that is looking back at you, and you cannot sit at the back of the room. It gets easier once the first hello is out of the way.
If someone is rude or asks for money, their profile has block and report; the safety tips take two minutes to read.
