The Mixu app that needs no store download

No. Mixu is a site you open in a browser, which means no visit to an app store and no waiting on a download. Type mixu.cam into Safari, Chrome, Edge or Firefox and the whole thing loads: matching, video calls, messages, the list of people who are online.

If you like having an icon, Mixu can sit on your home screen and open like any other app. That takes a few taps and uses almost no storage, because what you are saving is a shortcut to the site, not a copy of it. It also means there is never an update to install. You always open the current version.

Use the browser's own "add to home screen" option; the wording differs a little by device. Many pages on mixu.cam also show a bar along the bottom labelled Get Mixu App. Tapping it does the same job: it adds the web app to your device and does not send you to a store.

Tapping the icon opens Mixu across the full screen, without the address bar and tabs around it. Calls get the whole display, which matters most on a phone. Everything else is the same site: the same matches, the same profiles, the same Reward Center.

One thing to know on iPhone: a home-screen web app can keep its data apart from Safari. If the icon opens and you look like a new guest, that is why. Signing in on both puts you back in the same account; the section on switching phones below explains how.

Say Allow when the browser asks, and if you tapped Block by mistake, switch it back in the site settings. The first call triggers a prompt for camera and microphone. Without both, the other person sees a black square or hears nothing.

Only if you allow them. A website cannot notify you until you say yes to the browser's prompt, and you can take that back at any time in the same site settings where the camera lives.

The place you are most likely to meet the prompt is the Reward Center, which can remind you when the next reward is ready to claim. A guest session stays with the browser it was created in, so a new phone or a wiped browser starts you as a new guest. The people you followed and any balance belong to the old session.

The fix is to attach a sign-in before you move. After that, signing in on any device brings your follows and balance along. The how it works page covers accounts in more detail.

mixu.cam does not publish an APK. On Android the home-screen route above gives you an icon and a full-screen app without installing a file by hand. Files offered elsewhere under our name do not come from us, and an installer that asks you to switch off phone protections is a red flag on its own.

Any phone, tablet or computer from the last several years, with a working camera and microphone and a browser that is reasonably up to date. Safari on iPhone and Chrome on Android are the safest choices.
