Mixu chat: what one call really looks like

You get one real person on a private call, and nobody else in it. A Mixu chat is not a room and not a feed. Someone picks up, the screen belongs to the two of you, and the conversation goes wherever you take it.

Everyone you meet has a profile with photos, a name and a country, so you are never talking to a blank square, and the person does not vanish for good when the call ends. It is a 1v1 video chat in the plain sense: two people and one call.

It starts one of two ways: you tap start and Mixu matches you with someone who is free, or you open Who's online and call a person by name. Both end in the same private call. The trade-offs between the two are laid out on how Mixu works, so this page stays with what happens once you are connected.

You can talk on camera, type, send a gift, follow the person and move on, all from the call screen. Typed messages appear over the video while the call runs, so a name, a song title or a word you cannot pronounce can be written down instead of repeated three times.

If you and the other person have no language in common, the translate button next to a typed message shows it in yours. People use it more than they expect to: someone in another country may speak only a little English, and typing the hard sentence keeps the call moving.

Yes. Hanging up does not close the door, because everyone you meet has a profile, and the profile has its own buttons. From there you can follow, write a message or ring them on video without going through a random match again.

Open the list of people you follow and tap the one you want. That is the reliable way. Random matching cannot return a particular person just because you ask, and scrolling Who's online only works if they happen to be on at that moment.

From their profile you can see if they are online. If they are, call. If they are not, leave a message so it is waiting for them. Either way you are dealing with one known person now, not with chance. Calling a specific person is covered in more depth on the online video call page.

Gifts cost coins, and each gift shows its price in the gift panel before you send it. Nothing is sent by accident and nothing in a call requires a gift. They land the way applause does: nice to get, and a good conversation does not depend on them.

It is not a group room, a swipe deck or a stage to perform on. Calls are for two. There are no profile cards to sort through before you may speak to someone.

It is also not a promise that a particular person is free the second you want them. People come and go through the day and may already be on a call. When that happens, send a message, follow them, or pick someone else from the list. Before your first call, the short safety tips are worth two minutes.
